Q:I was watching The story of Tvxq(English version) on YT and I read a comment there that said that JYJ signed a deal with Avex for 7million(I think it's in dollars although she doesn't say), and sold all their Sm stocks. They also put a cease on Sm artists which led to them being unable to work in Japan. I also heard somewhere that JYJ asked Avex to cut all ties with Sm, and for a while Avex and Sm's relationship was not good. Is there proof of this and do you know anything about the issue?

I have heard about it, apparently it was based of a court session but I honestly haven’t read and cross-checked sources, I catalogue it as one of the things that can be true, that I feel is true, but I usually won’t use it to base any arguments until I have access to at least two sources to confirm my feelings.

About the relationship between AVEX and SM, I think the fact that AVEX supported JYJ that was technically in a legal dispute with SM should clearly tell where they stood in the beginning of the case. AVEX supported ChunJaeSu big time at the beginning.  They didn’t just work with ChunJaeSu as a part of TVXQ (and SM) but also as JYJ under CJeS. I mean, they supported them in holding a DOME concert before they even released an album (or an official group name)… It is an accomplishment, I mean, how many groups out there can say they had a DOME concert before ever releasing an album in Japan? It’s ironic how their fans bash Yunho and Changmin for riding on TVXQ’s fame… -___-“

It is a known fact there is a contract between AVEX and JYJ, because end of 2010, JYJ stated that one of the reasons they had a falling out with AVEX was because of the company’s unreasonable terms when renegotiating their contract (while AVEX stated that it was because of CJeS’ CEO background), so the 7 million might well be the signing bonus…

Unfortunately the contract has yet been available, so I can’t say I am 100% sure it was the case.

With the lawsuit ongoing and court sessions resuming, I am sure this would be one of the things they will discuss. Let’s just hope there will be accounts or news articles from the session we can study and base a logical conclusion from ^___^
